Sturgeon

Sturgeon-

These dinosaurs of the Columbia grow to be giants with fish in excess of 12 feet being caught every year.  Despite their size these fish are often very acrobatic and tail walk across the water.  If you’ve never tangled with one of these monsters its something every fisherman should experience.

The season for catch and release fishing runs year around on the Columbia.  There is a short keeper season that is dictated by a quota system.  We most often target these fish below McNary Dam down to Crow Butte.

Prime time for keepers run February thru April or until the quota is met.  Summer sturgeon fishing is very productive with the weather being much more comfortable
